The fine print, in full
The Macaronis
What this is
The Macaronis is a series of ten adult comic novellas, Season One: Boil Season, set in Machattan, a pasta city one humid day from going mushy. This wall is its home on the internet: every book has a page with its free opening, and every book has a short shift.
The books are not on sale yet. Nothing on this wall takes orders, payments, sign-ups or your details. When that changes, this page will say so first.
Content note
Adult dark comedy. Strong language, adult situations, crude humour, mob menace and existential dread. For readers 18 and over.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE
We don’t track you. We don’t have the staff.
No accounts, cookies, analytics, trackers, comments, email capture or payments. Every font, image, script and style comes from this site; nothing is fetched from anyone else.
Your stamps and settings are kept in your own browser’s storage, listed below. They never leave it. Clear them any time with Agree not to remember, in the settings (the fuse box marked DO NOT TOUCH), or with your browser’s own controls.
Everything this site keeps in your browser
| Key | Where | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
macaronis- | localStorage | The books you marked finished and the openings you read to the end. |
macaronis- | localStorage | Your settings: motion, Stay firm, shade, announcements, reading size and theme. Sound is never stored as on. And whether you asked for Plain words. |
macaronis- | localStorage | Seen-flags (the welcome bill, the ritual), the Kitchen consent answer and your pinned board note. A note you typed stays here and nowhere else. |
macaronis- | localStorage | Best scores and a few game flags, plus today's puzzle results for today only. No history. |
macaronis- | localStorage | The last chapter heading you reached in each opening, so you can pick up where you left off. |
macaronis- | sessionStorage | When this tab's visit started, and which of the wall's once-a-visit jokes it already showed. Gone when the tab closes. And which scene titles have already slapped on, and whether a street has had its opening, since each happens once a visit. |
Spoiler lids are a courtesy
Spoiler lids are a courtesy. None of them locks: everything is in the page, and you can open any lid on purpose.
A lid opens by itself when you stamp its book finished. Nothing checks whether you really read it. That’s between you and the book.
Your progress code
Ten characters, no account. Copy it from the settings and type it into another browser to carry your season over. It holds which books you finished, which openings you tasted and a few game flags; nothing else.
Accessibility
This site aims at WCAG 2.2 AA, with 7:1 contrast in the reading column. Every page works by keyboard, with visible focus, and every page reads without JavaScript.
Motion follows your device’s reduced-motion setting, and the settings can switch it off. Stay firm keeps the wall dry: no sag, no drip, no ink run. Nothing flashes more than three times a second, nothing has a time limit, and sound is off until you ask for it.
If something doesn’t work for you, that’s a bug. Noted. For the records.
